This patch allows Windows Mobile 6 devices to be used for
tethering -- that is, used as modems. It was requested by
AdamW in kernel bugzilla:

Pass buffer length to rndis_command so that rndis_command can read full

Some devices running some WinCE firmware (with SC_* Samsung processors
according to the SynCE project, verified on a HTC P3600 device) fail to
register because they apparently need extra time to respond correctly to
requests. Increase the existing delay to satisfy them. Based on code
from the SynCE project, on a suggestion of David Brownell.
This patch Works For Me(tm).

When query for OID_GEN_PHYSICAL_MEDIUM fails, uninitialized pointer
'phym' is being accessed in generic_rndis_bind(), resulting OOPS.
Patch fixes phym to be initialized and setup correctly when
rndis_query() for physical medium fails.
Bug was introduced by following commit:

This patch should resolve a problem that's troubled support for
some RNDIS peripherals. It seems to have boiled down to using a
variable to establish transfer size limits before it was assigned,
which caused those devices to fallback to a default "jumbogram"
mode we don't support. Fix by assigning it earlier for RNDIS.

Move headers usbnet.h and rndis_host.h to include/linux/usb and fix includes
for drivers/net/usb modules. Headers are moved because rndis_wlan will be
outside drivers/net/usb in drivers/net/wireless and yet need these headers.

Function pointer is for 'subminidrivers' that need to do work on device
right after minidriver has initialized hardware.
For example, rndis_wlan setting device specific configuration parameters
with OID_GEN_RNDIS_CONFIG_PARAMETER right after rndis_host has
initialized hardware with RNDIS_INIT.

Workaround another device firmware bug, wherein CDC descriptors get
placed in a wrong place never previously observed in the wild.
Fix a bug where a seeming RNDIS device returns a bogus response during
device initialization.

It is preferable to group drivers by usage (net, scsi, ATA, ...) than
by bus. When reviewing drivers, the [PCI|USB|PCMCIA|...] maintainer
is probably less qualified on networking issues than a networking
maintainer. Also, from a practical standpoint, chips often
appear on multiple buses, which is why we do not put drivers into
drivers/pci/net.

- Prevent SET_INTERFACE requests, they give PXA hardware bad indigestion
- For paranoia, null a pointer after freeing its data
- Wrap up ActiveSync oddities for RNDIS_QUERY in one routine

Plus add a comment noting the open issues about some RNDIS clients still
needing TBD kinds of browbeating to accept non-jumbogram packets.

So that it is also an offset from skb->head, reduces its size from 8 to 4 bytes
on 64bit architectures, allowing us to combine the 4 bytes hole left by the
layer headers conversion, reducing struct sk_buff size to 256 bytes, i.e. 4
64byte cachelines, and since the sk_buff slab cache is SLAB_HWCACHE_ALIGN...
:-)
Many calculations that previously required that skb->{transport,network,
mac}_header be first converted to a pointer now can be done directly, being
meaningful as offsets or pointers.

After Al Viro (finally) succeeded in removing the sched.h #include in module.h
recently, it makes sense again to remove other superfluous sched.h includes.
There are quite a lot of files which include it but don't actually need
anything defined in there. Presumably these includes were once needed for
macros that used to live in sched.h, but moved to other header files in the
course of cleaning it up.
To ease the pain, this time I did not fiddle with any header files and only
removed #includes from .c-files, which tend to cause less trouble.
Compile tested against 2.6.20-rc2 and 2.6.20-rc2-mm2 (with offsets) on alpha,
arm, i386, ia64, mips, powerpc, and x86_64 with allnoconfig, defconfig,
allmodconfig, and allyesconfig as well as a few randconfigs on x86_64 and all
configs in arch/arm/configs on arm. I also checked that no new warnings were
introduced by the patch (actually, some warnings are removed that were emitted
by unnecessarily included header files).

Windows Mobile 5 based devices described as supporting "ActiveSync":
- Speak RNDIS but lack the CDC and union descriptors. This patch
updates the cdc ethernet code to fake ACM descriptors we need.
- Require RNDIS_MSG_QUERY messages to include a buffer of the size the
response should generate. This patch updates the rndis host code to
pass this will-be-ignored data.
The resulting RNDIS host code has been reported to work with several
WM5 based devices.
(Note that a fancier patch is available at synce.sf.net.)
Some bugfixes, affecting not just ActiveSync:
(a) when cleaning up after RNDS init fails, scrub the second interface
just like cdc_ether does, so disconnect won't oops.
(b) handle peripherals that use the pad-to-end-of-packet option; some
devices can't talk to us if that option doesn't work.
(c) when choosing configurations, don't forget about an RNDIS config
just because the RNDIS driver is dynamically linked.
Cleanup, streamlining, bugfixes, Kconfig, and matching hub driver update.
Also for paranoia's sake, refuse to talk to something that looks like a
real modem instead of RNDIS.

Bug fix for driver rndis_host which fixes rndis_host probing certain
Nokia S60 (Series 60) mobiles. While the rndis_host get probed by usbnet
and tries to bind the Nokia mobile the bind is going to fail. The
rndis_host module tries to release the device, in a wrong way, which
cause the oops.

This adds host-side RNDIS support to the "usbnet" driver, so Linux can talk
to various devices (often based on WinCE) that otherwise only Windows could
talk to.
Tested with little-endian Linux talking to a Linux-USB Ethernet/RNDIS based
peripheral. This also includes updates from Eddie C. Dost <ecd@brainaid.de>
for big-endian SPARC Linux talking to a Nokia 9500 Communicator.
It's still marked as EXPERIMENTAL because this code is so young. This
ought to let Linux to work with various cable modems that previously
would have been "Windows Only".
